Program
Overview
 |
The
Tri-Green Certificate Program is a non-traditional partnership between
organized labor, employers, and the public and private workforce development
systems. This Green Jobs Innovation Fund program focuses on safeguarding
the environment with skilled and unskilled workers for green jobs in the
painting, drywall finishing, glazing, and weatherization industries. |
The goals are:
 |
Deliver the nationally recognized
industry certification “Green Advantage” |
 |
Develop and deliver a pre-apprenticeship
program with pathways to apprenticeship in several building trades |
 |
Partner with relevant community
organizations to locate, assess, prepare, and refer qualified applicants
to the pre-apprenticeship program |
 |
Evaluate and expand green competencies
in the current apprenticeship curriculum. |
 |
Provide a 16 hour training program
to current journey workers resulting in Green Advantage Certification as
well as updated skills related to green jobs. |
